The Problem:
Mental health crises are on the rise: Law enforcement officers often encounter individuals in crisis but lack the tools to connect them with appropriate care.
Overburdened emergency rooms: Without alternatives, officers default to taking individuals to ERs, which may not provide the specialized care needed for mental health issues. This also unnecessarily occupies critical hospital beds meant for other patients.
A gap in communication: Officers didn’t have a clear, real-time way to find suitable mental health resources during critical moments.
The Solution:
The Law Enforcement Navigation (LE NAV) Program: The Southwest Texas Crisis Collaborative (STCC) and STRAC developed an innovative system to help officers identify available mental health facilities in real-time instead of defaulting to ERs.
Our role at The IMG Studio: STRAC needed an engaging and educational video to showcase how the LE NAV Program works and its impact on the community.
