City of San Antonio

PSA

The City of San Antonio enlisted The IMG Studio to create a lighthearted and funny public service announcement aimed at encouraging responsible pet ownership, specifically reminding dog owners to pick up after their pets in public parks. To make this important message more engaging and memorable, we developed a 2D animated video called “The Poop Fairy,” using humor and playful animation to get the message across.

The concept of “The Poop Fairy” revolved around a magical character who debunks the myth that there’s someone who magically cleans up after dogs in public spaces. The animation follows the Poop Fairy as she humorously explains that she doesn’t actually exist and that it’s up to pet owners to take responsibility for keeping parks clean. Through witty dialogue and amusing scenarios, the video drives home the message in a way that’s fun and approachable for viewers of all ages.

The colorful, cartoonish style of the animation helped keep the tone light, while still delivering a clear call to action. The 2D animated characters, including the Poop Fairy and playful dogs, made the video entertaining and engaging, while the humor ensured that the message would stick with viewers. By using an entertaining narrative, the video avoided a preachy tone and instead encouraged behavior change through humor and relatability.

In addition to its entertaining visuals, the video also emphasized the environmental impact of not picking up after pets, from health hazards to water pollution. The playful animation paired with an important message made it an effective tool for educating the public on the importance of maintaining clean and healthy public spaces.

The “Poop Fairy” animation was distributed across the City of San Antonio’s social media platforms and public outreach channels, ensuring the message reached a wide audience. Its humor and unique approach helped grab attention and encourage viewers to adopt responsible habits when visiting public parks with their pets.

The IMG Studio is proud to have worked with the City of San Antonio on this project, creating a memorable and impactful PSA that uses humor to promote responsible pet ownership in a fun and engaging way.
